Beinahe vergessen - Almost Forgotten

Die Hose ist wieder heile! Guckt mal:

The pair of jeans is fixed! Look:

Schön, nicht?
Schönes Wochenende!!!

Cute, hm?
Have a nice weekend!!!

P.S.:
Meanwhile, there is quite a lot going on in the garden...

Lasagna!

But a vegetarian version with spinach and feta cheese. Delicious! I have tasted it years ago in a restaurant and was looking for it ever since. But I only had the idea to make it myself a few days ago.

IMG_7136

Sieht doch lecker aus, oder? Und das kommt rein:

Looks yummy, doesn't it? And these are the ingredients:

IMG_7128

1,5 kg Spinat (gefroren)
400g Feta
2 Knoblauchzehen*
1 Zwiebel

1,5 kg spinach (frozen)
400 g feta cheese
2 cloves of garlic*
1 onion
1 Ts olive oil
1 pot tomato sauce (self made is possible as well)
(enough) dried lasagna sheets
400 g creme fraiche
200g parmesan cheese
(dried) thyme

*I always take the sprout out of the garlic cloves to avoid the bad aftertaste and thirst after dinner.

Guten Appetit! =)

IMG_7130

Fry the chopped garlic and onions in the olive oil for a minute. Add a teaspoon of thyme if you like. Add the frozen spinach and let it thaw (for a while...). Dice the feta cheese and put it on the spinach to melt. Mix and season with salt and pepper.
Mix the creme fraiche with the grated parmesan cheese and a tiny bit of milk to make it easier to mix. Season with thyme and pepper.
Now layer the lasagna: Start with the spinach, then a layer of pasta, spinach, tomato sauce and pasta again. Repeat and top with the creme fraiche-cheese mixture.
Bake at 180 oC for 30 minutes.

Delicious with mozzarella and tomatoes (or a less-fat, fresh salad...)

Enjoy! =)

Nicht alles - Not Everything

...Goes as planned around here. =)
I wanted to sew a little heart and that's the result.... I need to practise a lot more!

IMG_7158

Klasse...
Abba toll findet sie ihren weichen Bommelschal dann doch! =)

Then there was the picture of my little mouse with her finished pompon shawl. She was posing really nicely when the doorbell went to get her to school (my sweet neighbour and me take turns playing taxi for our kids).
Great...
But she loves her new shawl very much =)

IMG_7156

But there also was this little application that was quite a success (to me at least). My sewing machine and me are finally getting along a little better. It was quite fun to sew this. They'll make new patches for Andrea's pants this afternoon: two new holes in a new pair of jeans. =)

IMG_7160

Schade.

Oh yes: This morning I also saw that a little crowd of chickadee's has discovered the peanut wreath. They were all over it! Great!!!
This little fella only got a little scared when I had to show up with my camera and flew away.
Pity.

Ich kann nicht nähen - I can't sew

Darum wird fleissig geübt! Mit diesem Trockentuch. =)
That's why I'm practising a lot now! With this tea towel. =)

IMG_7147

Also, meine Spüle sieht so aus.
Well, my kitchen sink looks like this.

IMG_7142

Nice, but not very practical, because there is always something to clean (without dishwasher). So I planned on sewing a draining-towel that I had seen here. A towel is attached to a tea towel and - done.
Looks cheerful with the the flowers, doesn't it?
After doing my dishes, it just disappears onto the heater.

Für die Vögelchen - For the Birdies

This weekend my glue gun had to work overtime - and the big jar with peanuts was emptied completely.
That wreath is now pretty heavy! I hope it won't crash to the ground once a little bird wants to pick a peanut - or two. ;)

Endlich mal Zeit... - Finally some time...

Mal sehen, was sie davon findet.

Sunday, the kids are with my in-law's and have fun - and we have some time for ourselves. =) Soooo nice! But of course I am looking forward to seeing them again in a few minutes.
Anyways: it was nice (going out in the evening and for breakfast!) and we finally had some time to hang the letter case in Andrea's room next to a pinboard that was stored in the garage for too long. I have made it when Andrea was born and had some cards and her very first bonnet and other little things attached. There's still plenty of space for her own little treasure. Let's see how she likes it.

Bommelschal - Pompon Shawl

....Abba keine Stricknadeln.

After reading this entry I wanted to start on a shawl right away because I had the pompon yarn in my drawer for some time already - but no needles to knit. So I started to crochet the shawl and it turned out a little bit different, with pompons on both sides, but oh... so soft! =)
A few more rows...

Lucky stars tutorial

Especially for Chantal. =)

Making the stars is pretty easy - once you have the right paper. I've tried to make some with old magazines, but somehow it just didn't work. Now I use origami paper for Fröbel stars (15 mm x 45 mm).

IMG_7090

The first step is to tie a knot like this:

IMG_7091

Gently tighten it

IMG_7092

Fold the short end toward the pentagram-shaped knot (trim to make it fit if neccessary)

IMG_7093

And tuck it into the knot

IMG_7095

Turn over and fold the long end towards the pentagon

IMG_7096

Turn and fold again

IMG_7097

And again... (approx. 13 - 15 times)
until it looks like this (again, trim the end if it is too long)

IMG_7098

Tuck the last part under the knot

IMG_7099

And you have a thicker little pentagon

IMG_7100

Now, with your fingernail make a crease

IMG_7101

IMG_7102

And continue on the other four sides until it looks like this:

IMG_7104

And tadaa: you're done! =)

I hope you this tutorial makes sense (and hopefully it's not making it too complicated?).

Have fun making lots and lots of little stars!

Sternchen - Little stars

Mal schau'n!

IMG_7084

Looks as if I have too much time... =)
But that's not really true: I just have to keep these hands a bit busy. Makes sense, doesn't it?

What I'm going to do with these stars? Well, first they'll be collected, then threaded and used as a garland for the Christmas tree, or the lamp, or the bookshelf,... or me? ;)
Let's see!

Setzkasten - Letter case

The letter case is finished! It was quite a piece of work, but also a lot of fun. And the best: when I was finished, my husband told me that it would be a nice piece for the new bedroom (he's not that good with complimenting me directly...).
We're going to hang it in Andrea's room next week. =)

So schön... - So beautiful...

Yippieh!

Today I went to a craft-store. Our little village is simply too small for a good store so I went to the next one to get some nice paper for my letter case in a little basement-located store.
Oh,... how wonderful this little store was! Incredible, how many great craft supplies can be arranged on such a small area! There was something I always wanted to try here, and something beautiful there - I almost forgot the crafts I was working on. But only just. ;)
So, now I got a beautiful stack of scrapbooking paper and can cut and glue to finish my project.
Yay!

These two little bracelets were finished yesterday evening. Quite pretty, aren't they? Now I only need to decorate an origami box and off they go!

Update

Well, these last few days I've been knotting, brushing (and scrubbing off afterwards...) ad playing.
And this is the result - so far.

IMG_7056
Noch ein Anstrich, dann wird bunt geklebt.
Another layer of paint, then it'll be time to cut and paste.

IMG_7059
This bracelet is almost done. There'll be another one and then they'll go on a loooong journey. ;)

Ein schönes Bild von meiner Grossen. Schön, nicht?
A beautiful painting from my big girl. Nice, isn't it?

Kindergarten Portfolio

I procrastinated this for far too long; it's almost emberrassing. It's also a pity that this little project stopped me from starting anything else. Strange, hm?! Well, anyways: The portfolio will be given to the kindergarten-teacher with quite some pride - to be filled with many colourful paintings and stories.
...And I ca now start on something else. =)
